Updates on Xylella fastidiosa in Balearic Islands
An updated situation concerning the presence and distribution of Xylella fastidiosa, including host plants, has been provided by the Govern Illes Balears, where the disease was first reported in October 2016.

In Mallorca, the presence of X. fastidiosa subsp. fastidiosa or X. fastidiosa subsp. multiplex has been confirmed in wild and cultivated olive trees, almond trees, Polygala mirtifolia, rosemary, cherry trees, lavender plants, plum tree, oleander, Cistus sp., mimosa and Vitis sp.
In Menorca, X. fastidiosa subsp. multiplex has been confirmed in wild and cultivated olive trees, and in Polygala myrtifolia. Xylella fastidiosa situation in Spain is closely monitored by means of official controls performed by the Spanish Competent Authorities.
