The Search and Mapping tools allow users to find scientific information (taxonomy, synonyms, status, pathways,…) and map the occurrences of species in the EASIN Catalogue from the EASIN Geo Database.
Species can be searched through a simple search, typing species’ name or synonym, or by combination of criteria, mapped by using multiple layer types, and geospatial data filtered by Data Partners and EASIN-Lit information.
EASIN collects also the EU geographical distribution of Invasive Alien Species (IAS) of Union concern (listed under EU Regulation 1143/2014 and published by Commission Implementing Regulations (EU) 2016/1141, 2017/1263, 2019/1262 and 2022/1203 ).
The EU geographical distribution of IAS of Union concern is set through a Science for Policy Report. EASIN collects spatial data on Invasive Alien Species (IAS) of Union concern.
A specific “Union Concern” filter can be used to search IAS of Union concern from the EASIN Catalogue. To map IAS of Union concern from official data sources only, please use the filters on the map to select Notsys and Baseline data.
For further details on the available filters logic and mapping options, and on the use of the tools, please refer to our User Guide.
